Privacy Policy

We are pleased that you are visiting our website. Protecting your privacy and your personal data, so-called personal data, when using our website is an important concern for us.
According to Art. 4 No. 1 GDPR, personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, information such as your first and last name, your address, your telephone number, your email address, but also your IP address.
Data that cannot be linked to you, for example through anonymisation, is not personal data. Processing (e.g. collecting, storing, reading, retrieving, using, transmitting, deleting or destroying) according to Art. 4 No. 2 GDPR always requires a legal basis or your consent. Processed personal data must be deleted as soon as the purpose of processing has been achieved and no statutory retention obligations need to be observed any longer.
Here you will find information about how we handle your personal data when you visit our website. To provide the functions and services of our website, it is necessary for us to collect personal data about you.
We also explain the type and scope of the respective data processing, the purpose and the corresponding legal basis, and the respective storage period.
This privacy policy applies only to this website. It does not apply to other websites to which we merely refer via a hyperlink. We cannot accept any responsibility for the confidential handling of your personal data on these third-party websites, as we have no influence on whether these companies comply with data protection regulations. Please inform yourself directly on these websites about how these companies handle your personal data.

Newsletter
a) Type and scope of data processing
On our website you can subscribe to a free regular email newsletter. In order to send you the newsletter regularly, we need your email address.
We use the so-called double opt-in procedure for sending the newsletter.
This means that we will only send you an email newsletter once you have expressly confirmed that you consent to receiving the newsletter. We will then send you a confirmation email asking you to confirm by clicking on a corresponding link that you wish to receive newsletters from us in future.
This ensures that only you yourself, as the owner of the email address provided, can subscribe to the newsletter. Your confirmation must be made promptly after receipt of the confirmation email, otherwise your newsletter subscription will be automatically deleted from our database.
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect and store the data you enter in the input form (e.g. last name, first name, email address).
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we also store your IP address assigned by your internet service provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration in order to be able to trace any misuse of your email address at a later date. For the confirmation email sent for control purposes (double opt-in
email), we also store the date and time of the click on the confirmation link and the IP address assigned by the internet service provider (ISP).
-
b) Purpose and legal basis
The data we collect when you subscribe to the newsletter is used exclusively for advertising purposes by means of the newsletter.
The processing of your email address for sending the newsletter is based on Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 7 (2) No. 3 UWG on the declaration of consent given voluntarily by you below, which can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
In addition, the processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR due to our legitimate interest in documenting proof of the required consent.
- c) Storage period
Your email address is stored for as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter. After unsubscribing from the newsletter, your email address will be deleted unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data.

Facebook Custom Audience / Facebook Pixel
Within our website we use the visitor action pixel of the provider Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2 D02 X525, Ireland (“Facebook”). The Facebook remarketing tag or tracking pixel has been implemented. Facebook and we are jointly responsible for the data processing.
The Facebook pixel enables Facebook to determine the visitors of our online offering as a target group for the display of ads (so-called “Facebook ads”). A user can also be tracked across several websites. We use the Facebook pixel to display the Facebook ads we place only to those Facebook users who have shown an interest in our online offering or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interest in certain topics or products determined on the basis of the websites visited) that we transmit to Facebook (so-called “custom audiences”).
With the help of the Facebook pixel, we can also track the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes (“audience insights”) by seeing whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad (so-called “conversion”).
The Facebook pixel is a JavaScript code that sends the following data to Facebook:
- HTTP header information: including IP address, information about the web browser, page location, document, URL of the website and device of the web browser (computer, smartphone, tablet, other) as well as day and time of use
- Pixel-specific data: pixel ID and Facebook cookie data including your Facebook ID (these are used to link events to a specific Facebook advertising account and thus assign them to a Facebook user)
- Additional information about the visit and about standard and custom data events.
Further information can be found here.
We also use the additional function “automatic advanced matching”. Here, data such as first and last name, place of residence, email addresses, telephone numbers or Facebook IDs of users are transmitted to Facebook in encrypted form to create target groups (“custom audiences” or “lookalike audiences”). This also includes data of non-Facebook users and of users who are not logged in to Facebook when visiting our website. This also makes it possible to identify website visitors who have deactivated the storage of third-party cookies.
If no Facebook cookies are stored in your browser, you will not be assigned to any of the user groups referred to as “custom audiences”. However, if the Facebook ID contained in the Facebook cookie has been assigned to a Facebook user, Facebook assigns this user to a so-called “custom audience” based on the rules we have defined.
According to the case law of the European Court of Justice, we are jointly responsible with Facebook for the operation of the tracking pixel with regard to compliance with data protection regulations. In this context, Facebook provides the associated IT infrastructure and the website of the social network and is generally the primary contact when it comes to the processing of your data on the pages of the social network (e.g. information or deletion). However, you can also assert your legal rights against us. In this case, we will forward your requests to the operator of the social network.
Insofar as data is transferred outside the European Union (EU) or the contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), Facebook obliges the recipients (including the US-based Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA) to comply with an adequate level of data protection on the basis of so-called EU standard contractual clauses. In addition, a transfer to a third country may also take place on the basis of the recognition of an adequate level of data protection by the European Commission.
We use the Facebook pixel to display the “Facebook ads” we place to those Facebook users who have shown an interest in our online offering or who have certain characteristics that we transmit to Facebook (so-called “custom audiences”).
The legal basis for the use of Facebook Custom Audience is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
Further information can be found here and in Facebook's privacy policy.

Google Ads conversion tracking
We use Google Ads to show you advertising on Google websites and those of other third parties. Google Ads is a web analysis service of Google Ireland Ltd, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).
Conversion tracking allows us to determine how successful the individual advertising measures are. Our purpose is to show you advertising that is of interest to you and to make our website more interesting for you. The advertising is delivered by Google via so-called “ad servers”. For this purpose we use cookies, which can be used to measure certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users. If you reach our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords stores a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. This cookie usually stores the unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be addressed) as analysis values.
These cookies enable Google to recognise your internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of an Adwords customer's website and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Adwords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies therefore cannot be tracked via the websites of Adwords customers. We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in the advertising measures mentioned. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Based on these evaluations, we can see which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising material; in particular, we cannot identify users on the basis of this information.
Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to Google's servers. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google and inform you according to our state of knowledge: By integrating AdWords conversion tracking, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will find out and store your IP address.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:

Google Ads remarketing
We use Google Ads Remarketing. Google Ads Remarketing is a web analysis service of Google Ireland Ltd, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).
This application allows our advertising to be displayed to you on other websites after you have visited our website. This is done by means of cookies stored in your browser, through which Google records and evaluates your usage behaviour when you visit various websites. In this way, Google can determine your previous visit to our website. According to Google's own statements, Google does not merge the data collected in the context of remarketing with your personal data that may be stored by Google. In particular, according to Google, pseudonymisation is used in remarketing.

Google Analytics
Some of our websites use Google Analytics to analyse and improve their use.
Google Analytics is a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, however, your IP address will first be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide the website operator with further services related to website and internet use. The legal basis for processing data using Google Analytics is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
We use Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”. This shortens IP addresses (so-called IP masking), so that a reference to specific persons can be ruled out.

Google Tag Manager is a solution that allows marketers to manage website tags via one interface. The Tag Manager tool itself (which implements the tags) is a cookieless domain and does not collect any personal data. The tool triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. If a deactivation has been made at domain or cookie level, it remains in place for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager. http://www.google.de/tagmanager/use-policy.html
